First Blog on My Tutoring!

  Hi, it's me again!
I have decided to start blogging about my pupils and their art lessons as I thought it might be interesting to see what they learn, and how they progress over time (hopefully!).

Matthew has been coming to me for lessons since 2008, and has progressed tremendously. I'm so very proud of the way he has grown in confidence artistically. He is now attempting projects which he would never have even contemplated before. I recently heard a saying which is so true in my life, and I'm sure in the lives of others:
"Success is on the other side of fear"

  Moonlit Night
Matthew is embarking on a painting inspired by one of my own called: 'Meeting at Night'.

Lesson 1
Before any paint touches the canvas, we spent a lesson talking about the sea, looking at sea- scape paintings and visualising his ideas. He planned his composition and it's colours, by doing little 'thumbnail' sketches, and experimenting with textured paste to create the feeling of crashing waves.
